About ggrigs

Last updated April 21, 2026

ggrigs — Great Gaming Rigs — is an editorial + affiliate site for gaming gear, built around one idea: be useful without being dishonest.

Most affiliate sites talk about products they haven't tested as if they have. That's the pattern Google's Helpful Content system penalizes, the pattern Amazon's compliance team terminates associate accounts for, and the pattern readers learn to distrust. We chose the opposite.

What we actually do

Every ggrigs review or guide falls into one of two tiers, clearly labeled:

  • Editorial roundup. We haven't personally tested the product. The review aggregates published findings from cited reviewer sources — rtings, PCMag, Tom's Hardware, Notebookcheck, HardwareUnboxed, Digital Foundry, Gamers Nexus, r/MouseReview, r/ValorantCompetitive, manufacturer spec sheets. Every factual claim links to its source. The "Editorial roundup" badge + an in-body disclosure make the distinction clear before any reader hits the product recommendations.
  • First-hand review. We personally own the product. The review includes our own photos of our unit, purchase date, and first-person observations. "Tested by ggrigs" badge + evidence block on the rendered page.

As of 2026, the vast majority of our coverage is editorial roundups. We upgrade individual reviews to first-hand one product at a time, as we acquire units.

What we don't do

  • We don't fabricate first-hand testing claims on products we don't own.
  • We don't run sponsored content that isn't clearly labeled.
  • We don't show price history ("lowest ever") without explicit retailer permission.
  • We don't use AI-generated images for product identity shots.
  • We don't include Amazon-tagged links in newsletters (Amazon Operating Agreement restriction).

What we stand to gain

When you click a buy button and purchase on Amazon, we earn a small commission on qualifying purchases. That's how ggrigs pays for itself. We only include products we'd recommend to a friend — and we link to sources transparent enough that you can verify our reasoning before trusting our picks.

Who writes this

At launch, everything is published under the ggrigs Editorial byline — a pseudonymous editorial voice representing the Great Gaming Rigs team. As we add writers, they'll appear as distinct authors. The editorial voice is the house; the bylines will diversify over time.
